SIBYLLE AND MARC / INTIMATE ELOPEMENT

photography - Isabel Nao

We have been meeting with Sibylle and Marc since November last year, and we are proud to say that they were the very first Swiss couple to elope with us— yay! We planned their Elopement together over the course of numerous cocktails and antipasti, which is also when we received the news that they were expecting their first child May 2019. Having proposed at a secluded lake in somewhere in the midst of grand Canadian nature, Sibylle and Marc grew fond of the idea of eloping, which made Elope in Switzerland just the match for them.

After a good night’s sleep, our couple woke up at their hotel with an incredible view of the surrounding lake and waterfalls. Having enjoyed their breakfast together, they nervously split apart to prepare for their first-look-moment. While the bride was getting pampered by our talented make-up artist, the groom handed us a long lost letter, which carried great sentimental meaning to both of them. With a sneaky smile, we were instructed to keep the charm for a special surprise later at the Elopement ceremony.

Standing by the beautiful hotel terrace, overlooking the lake, Marc waited with anticipation for his bride. With a last look in the mirror and a deep deep breath, Sibylle set on her way, trying to hold back one or two happy tears as she saw her future husband waiting for her. Approaching him softly, right before she touched his shoulders with tear-filled-eyes, Marc joked gently— I can already hear you cry.

After their first photoshoot by the idyllic waterfalls surrounding the hotel, Sibylle and Marc were carried across Lake Brienz with nothing but blue skies, white mountain tops all around, and clear blue waters beneath them. Having arrived, the couple enjoyed a cozy lunch by Chef Lazaros Kapageoroglou just the two of them at the side of the lake. With bellies filled and happy smiles, it was time for the Elopement ceremony amidst green, snow-covered pastures up by a Chalet on Axalp.

Driving upward in an epic turquoise old-timer, we met back with Sibylle and Marc on the Alp surrounded by flowers, lanterns, and welcoming sunshine. As Jeannine guided the couple through the ceremony speech, silent tears began to fall and their love for one another filled the air. Promising their marriage vows between just the two of them, Marc presented the letter which Sibylle thought was long lost, and all of us found ourselves deeply moved by the raw emotions we were witnessing.

Now, if you think this couple’s wedding day was already over you are far from right. Following their elopement, Sibylle and Marc, back in their old-timer, cruised down to the town of Interlaken to meet their friends for an intimate civil wedding at the town’s castle. Having enjoyed the short and crisp civil ceremony, we took the time for one last photoshoot session, and ended the magical day with a private dinner at a local baroque Brasserie.
