Aisling AND Landry / Intimate ELOPEMENT
On a hot July afternoon at 2’300 meters above sea-level, enveloped by a light mountain breeze, Aisling and Landry said yes to a lifetime together. They chose to have the Alps and their families and closest friends as their witnesses for their elopement in Switzerland.
“We started our relationship in the mountains, and would love to begin our marriage in the same place” was one of the motives that they mentioned in their inquiry email, and we immediately felt it was going to be a fit. All along the planning process and throughout their elopement day, we were blessed time and time again by Aisling and Landry’s kindness, thoughtfulness and patience.
Feet in the grass, the Eiger’s north face as the backdrop, Aisling’s and Landry’s fathers in turn introduced and led the ceremony. The beautiful speeches, time of prayers and blessings as well as Aisling and Landry’s vows were mingled with many tears of joy and emotion. As always, the ceremony was topped with champagne. We had kept the bottles cool in a water trough, where the cows usually drink from. Cake was served, music was played. Soon the sun began to set over the hills, as we were taking the couple photos and videos in the softest of lights.
The families finished the day with dinner under the tree of the terrace of a beloved Italian restaurant in Wengen and we said goodbye, still full of emotion and thankfulness.
