While eloping seems like a fairly new trend, emerging and replacing grand wedding feasts, the practice has been around for quite a while. In fact, it used to be the case when two lovers who wanted to get married, but their families did not approve of their union, would run away to seal their bond in secret. This adventurous element is still present in elopements today. But what makes eloping truly unique are the endless possibilities, intimate experiences, and absolute freedom. Here are three reasons why we think you may want to consider eloping.
COST
The most obvious reason: money. This does not mean that elopements have to be cheap events. Rather, it's the small scale of things that gives you the chance to go full-out in other areas (e.g. dress, photographer, phenomenal locations), as opposed to spending immense amounts on catering, a large venue, or any other requirements of a traditional wedding.
INTIMACY
This is probably our favorite reason. Eloping is truly a "just the two of us" experience. As opposed to long guest lists and a workload of seating charts to deal with, eloping allows you to gather the most important ones to witness your special moment. You decide how few or how many you would like to be present.
LOCATION
Now, eloping might trigger lots of different thoughts in your mind: Viva Las Vegas, running away to the courtroom for a 5-minute wedding, or you and your lover on a mountain peak exchanging vows. What we truly value about elopements are the versatile, never-ending possibilities to choose from. Since elopements are intimate wedding ceremonies, there is absolute freedom on your part to decide where you want to host it.
